Konmari

Konmari is a new organizing method invented by Marie Kondo a japanese consultant within decluttering your space, work as private. I read her book before christmas and like so many other make-your-space-more-simple, I thought, it probably would be like all the other methods and books….but it was actually so much more different in the approach of decluttering and the way to organize your stuff.

Oh yes I have many many times been sitting with items in my hands and asked myself, do I love this, is this fantastic or should I keep it, and although I perhaps have another flow of furnitures in my life compared to other people, haven’t I found the perfect balance of things and space….before what is happening now.

Usually we organize and clean the mess room by room, but the turning point of getting somewhere and actually once and for all stop organizing and get everything balanced, and not by buying a new bunch of furnitures, or fill up the space above and below us….and hereby artificial have a simple space…

This time there-is-light-in-the-tunnel….and the simple method is….leaving the room by room method, and instead collect a specific itemgroup from all space in your home, and put it at the floor in one room and then decide what to keep and what to leave. To see ALL that cloth at one spot is terrifying or at least shocking….the amount helps you to go through it and actually just keep a few things.

For now I have gone through cloth (I love my new clean space and how easy it is to find cloth), kitchenrelated items, papers (wrapping, documents, drawings, letters and so on, a lot of papers went out) and music.

I have a deadline end of the month…and intend to keep it, so my space is simple, refreshed and containing what I love….

Plenty of smaller boxes inside other things keeps it tidy and nice. Even my children loves to wrap their cloth in a new way…they just did it from day one.

But its not only cloth its everything….even files at your computer….

A new member of the family

Lucky me, getting the possibility to buy a beautiful old sofa and chair for the sofa, Børge Mogensen model 2213 in my favourite leather colour, warm and best of all is has been used for many years, so the look is so gorgeous….and go along well with my spanish chair and all my diningtable chairs also by Børge Mogensen….

And by the way, I’m back, and have been way to busy since may last year…now things have calm down…or at least less busy…
