A dot

Nuuk, Greenland last year 18.th of december 2019, A Facebook friend in Greenland put up this beautiful photo from one of his friends – Ádám Young, which flew over Nuuk and sent this beautiful picture he had taken this evening enroute to Denver, Colorado from Reykjavík, Iceland. Thank you so much Ádám! I really miss my tiny little Nuuk in Greenland when I see this photo…

car ride – part two

We went in to the car, and took a ride a little bit everywhere in Nuuk…stayed in the car and went back home…it felt refreshing and was one of the highlights of this week…a daily highlight is that we are having a cup of tea and two pieces of chocolate 🙂 and then we have been eating a lot of lentils and root vegetables this period..Im grateful we only have 6 with covid-19 in Greenland and only here in Nuuk (the capital ) and 2 of the 6 are already healthy again..so the strong quick isolation strategy here has helped. No flights in and out of Greenland , and no flights between settlements and towns around Greenland. The same with sailing, no sailing…and all people are asked to stay at home unless it is really really important…hopefully we soon will be able to open up dailylife again in our society, but still no flights in and out of Greenland until the virus calms down in Europe…until then enjoy the part two photos of todays ride…

Remembering FAN

Master photographer, film director and actor Fan Ho ( Born 8th of october 1931Shanghai China, Died 19th of June 2016 San Jose, California, Usa) have created phenomenal photos from the streets of China. His photos are like great chinese poetry…full of soul. He believed in art creation was to try anything…No limits. Making all forms of art. Then he was good at mixing old and new….have a look at these beautiful and sublime composed photos….and a little interview with him….

A fly on the wall

German photographer Menno Aden has shot a series of Berlin interiors from an unconventional viewpoint, looking down from the ceiling he has made a series called “Room Portraits”. In each room photo the camera has been centered at the ceiling. At first I thought the rooms were collages, but then I had a closer look and could see it was a photo of a room….the angle is lovely and made me think of isometric drawings…The spaces varies from supermarkets to private homes to classrooms and carparks…and so much more spaces…

Photographer (my good friend ) Fernando Ugarte, 2018 , East Greenland, Nansens Fjord…

A polar bear cools down in the snow, probably to avoid overheating….

My good local mexican friend Fernando Ugarte biologist, took this after walking away from their boat….what he actually say is that they probably disturbed the polar bear in its natural environment, often its said the polar bears are playing or chilling out in this situation, but what he realised from the situation was that the polar bear actually heated up because it was disturbed by the humans and wanted to get away…

Honest to have this kind of recognition…

I really love the photo…its so beautiful…see more og his wonderful photos at instagram: Fernando Ugarte

Enjoy them, some of them will amaze you, its hard to believe nature is so beautiful with those colours and shapes….usually I walk to my work in the morning and afternoon walk home again, and nature here still cause a WOW in me….

It looks like the photos are done by the talented photographer Mads Pihl, which I have used for several projects, latest where I was asked in 2013 to design the concept of Arctic Wintergames 2016.

Its a huge sports event for young people from the whole Arctic…for that project I used photographer Mads Pihls portraits as a kind of signature for the whole design, because I think the photos are really modern and from my point of view very representative and cool for the youth in Greenland.

One of the locals have made this funny list , 16 signs you are born and raised in Greenland some of them are quite funny nevertheless real! I’m born in Greenland, but not raised here, but I still agree with a lot of the signs…

lost structures

Several bizarrely striking structures by Michael Greaves, photographed by Swiss photographer Mario Del Curto in Quebec. About the objects he assembles, he has written, “I very much liked and observed old objects, used objects, objects worn down by the force of time and human history.

So wonderful and anarchistic, the houses and photos makes me very happy….and the process must have been lovely…

Photo from our Dharma Art retreat in Cologne

Photo by TDB, Thea D. Boldt

by lovely Thea D. Boldt which I shared 10 days with in Cologne, Germany some years ago for an intensive meditation – artprogram, Shambhala Art which can be seen as a process, a product, and an arts education program.

As a process, it brings wakefulness and awareness to the creative and viewing processes through the integration of contemplation and meditation. As a product, it is art that wakes us up.

The Program was very interesting, playful and worked with these subject – areas

  • Part one – Coming to Your Senses
  • Part two – Seeing things as they are
  • Part three – The Creative Process
  • Part four – The Power of Display
  • Part five – Art in Everyday life
