The Beautiful Reminders

of the small things which my eyes catch in dailylife in my neighbourhood and home..

A single textile exibition Åndehuller (the hole in the ice from where the marine mammals are breathing from) in the greenlandic house in Aarhus…the delicate white paperlooking material is the gut from seals…

The light in our livingroom – I love it…

Handmade

Beautiful ceramic polarbears made by local clay from the fiord
Wax mould for bronzerings
Sewed wild sweetgrass baskets
A walrus
Carved wood sculptures
Bronze sculptures – I love the colour
Cabinets waiting for its glassfronts and to be hanged om the walls
Space after Space after Space for small sculptures⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Safety first
Soapstone sculptures

Unpacking a lot of art mainly sculptures to sort out how to exibit them in the new cabinets…together with paintings and the rest of the interior…BUT only imagining and planning in my mind because, its impossible for the moment..too much stuff and people working everywhere..

Ceilings, walls, floors are worked on, so Im waiting patiently to be able to move on…

Hearing heartbeats

What a lovely book Im reading for the moment, such a beautiful story about a young blind man…written by german journalist Jan-Philipp Sendker…lucky me its the first book of three!

His sensitive, intense, taxtile way of describing life is really a joy to read and experience. I wonder if any of you have read his books?!

Remembering FAN

Master photographer, film director and actor Fan Ho ( Born 8th of october 1931Shanghai China, Died 19th of June 2016 San Jose, California, Usa) have created phenomenal photos from the streets of China. His photos are like great chinese poetry…full of soul. He believed in art creation was to try anything…No limits. Making all forms of art. Then he was good at mixing old and new….have a look at these beautiful and sublime composed photos….and a little interview with him….

35 glimpses…

of my dream….

finding some japanese investors and building a beautiful place in the amazing fiords of Nuuk, Greenland…one day, I know, step by step…come and visit my future place…

shower of snow

after days of sunshine, warmer weather, but still cold in the wind, I woke to another shower of snow, we call that kind of snow, the snow which melts away the other snow…

I have collected some nature photos I really like…look at that black beach in Iceland that is so beautiful, and the other ocean meets ocean photo from St. Kitts in the Caribbean , where the Atlantic meets the Caribbean Ocean, that is so fascinating, I have been there and seen it…

I also find  the purple photo very very beautiful, Lake Toya, Hokkaido, Japan, like the heaven here in Greenland in fall…where its getting colder and the stars shines bright again after months of sun the whole day and night…

The rest are just delicate, crispy, touching images…nature, dailylife, the small things moves me the most…small miracles..

groenlandica…

Recently I got a new friend, which I share all kinds of interest with, like design and cultures, antiques in general, art of all kinds, old paintings, food and a lot more subjects….our conversations start one place and end out a totally other place in half hours…
One evening me and one of my acquaintances was invited to a dinnerparty at his place together with some other nice people, and discovered that my new friend collect some beautiful woodfigures by the famous greenlandic hunter and wood carver Johannes Kreutzmann, and that my acquaintanty is the grandchild of the woodcarver…that was a lovely and funny “coincidence”…..
Johannes Kreutzmann started woodcarving these huge figures because all the unsual people he admired and loved went alive and then he tried to create and carve them in wood.
Another reason was he couldn’t hunt at his old days because of his sight and he started this artistic path.
The figures are so beautiful, the sizes, colours, craftsmanship and expressions…and the way my friend had arranged them made a huge impression on me…very artistic and thoughtful arranged…

originality of spirit ….

Gorgeous atmospheres of the World from my favourite magazine, World of Interiors

As a professional interior designer this magazine just speak to me in all directions, colourwise, history, styles, personality,  or as described by themselve “authoritative, relevant, lavish – and unpredictable, quality and attention to detail”…..

I love it, thats why I bring in a LOT of photos this time…
