Autumn showers a new colourpalette

Yesterday morning on the way home from following my daughter to the bus – this wonderful tree – which made me so happy –

Don’t sit and wait – get out there – feel life and take time to look up into the tree branches to re- connect to mother earth!

Autumn on its way

I will write more one of the days – dailylife has started – both my girls have started their new schools – and I have focus on running my business a new place – so many ideas, thoughts and administrative things to do when ones company has to start up in a new country – a lot new knowledge and rules – its very promising place to be in life…

Its all okay

Today was the big big big day for us as a family. My eldest daughter Anouk – 16 years old started a new chapter in her life – she started at UHR one of two youth folk highschools in Denmark – a school for students between 16-19 years old – Located outside Ribe in the south of Jutland.

Music, design, drama, sport, cooking, philosophy, suistainability and many other interesting lessons will be her dailylife – and no grades at all. A year with a lot of new knowledge and skills and of course a lot of friendships.

Today young people from all over Denmark, Iceland, Faroe Island, Greenland (my daughter), Norway, Belgium, Germany, Italy, USA, Slovakia, Mexico, and another south American country I forgot the name of met and will the next year share a lot of time together. They were excited, a little anxious and felt perhaps a little unease…the same with us parents and siblings.

We helped her to move in to her room and made it comfortable and more as a home (good to be an interior designer 😊), and will need to send some more things to make it more cosy…

Im sure my daughter will have a wonderful year and that they will take good care of her. Everyone we have heard who have spent a year at this school have said it was their best year in their life as a young person ❤️ The principal told all of us when she made her welcome speech that two of the pupils back in the 80’ have asked to have their wedding at the school in a months time – where all the students are invited – soooo lovely.

As a parent it both feels natural to support her on her path – and really strange and sad to leave her – no matter how good she is going to have it – now I will get a closer relationship with my youngest daughter the coming year ❤️ and will look forward to welcome my eldest home in a month for at her first weekend.

One big beautiful bathroom

Hours at the beach – swimming – sunbathing – eating icecream is soooo nice when you have lived 15 years in Greenland where the ocean is around 0-1 celcius the whole year around – it can be very warm in Greenland – but swimming is rare – I really appreciate beach visits right now.

And this particular beach is located at the end of a long road in the forest and in the end the wonderful Moesgård Museum is located – right before this very beautiful beach and surroundings.

Healing powers

We were actually at the beach today but forgot to take photos – the weather is so warm in Aarhus – so having some hours in the sun, relaxing and having short dips in the water was good for the soul after half year of being busy…doing absolutely nothing besides finding nice stones with wholes – talking a little, looking at the animals… listening to the ocean –

On our way home we walked in the forest next to the ocean, that was healing and inspiring – the light – the beautiful glimses of the ocean – the wonderful landscape of our local forest Marselisborg and felt so lucky and thankful to live this beautiful and peaceful place –

My girls took some photos on our way home – eating a little berries …

Everything is possible

Another day getting to know better our new city Aarhus – where we had a long busride to reach the university hospital of Aarhus for a Covid-19 test appointment for my eldest daughter – before she starts her new school…

Which luckily made us pass by the new 110 km citytrain in Aarhus – Letbanen – that was an easy and good experience – in a short while we went from north of Aarhus to the city.

We had to ran some errands – danceshoes for my youngest daughter in an anthroposofic store – thank god my children are big now – the store had beautiful suistanable toy everywhere – 😊 and trying to find other things…which helps us to get to know Aarhus city.

Recently we became members of AOFF a local food community with vegetables , fruit, flowers, eggs and so on, grown from local farmers living nearby – helped by volunteers – when we picked up this weeks order we met some of the volunteers – and heard about their meetings, activities and community – it all sounded so nice – that I in near future will put in some hours to help. Look at the photos of the lovely vegetables we had today – which was transformed in to a nice risotto with squash and marigold flowers made by my eldest daughter and I made a little salad with beetroots, marigold, parsley and apples…

Balanced education

Today we paid a visit to the new school of my youngest daughter – a wonderful Waldorf/Rudolf Steiner school in Aarhus. The school was the reason we located us where we did in Denmark – and we were thrilled by our choice after todays meeting.

This school has a balanced education between body/mind/soul or movement/intellectual and creative lessons. As a creative it felt good to experience this balance – 1/3 of each – because that gives a more harmony in dailylife.

I wish it was me who was going to start at the school 😊 besides its beautiful old buildings, the school is having a big forrest in the backyard where the children can go out and play and have lessons, and the ocean in front of the school – which of course is also integrated in the lessons.

No Ipads – a lot of handwriting and drawing/painting your schoolwork…Everymorning the whole school sing together, 6years old – 20 years old pupils. In between the school buildings there is a kindergarten.

To be continued…just first impression.
