Change in interiordesign

Im working on a big report for a customer about how Covid-19 change interior design and space, and how to deal with it now and in the future. Its such an interesting project, which connect so many aspects of life. Interior design, nudging design, communication, worklife, psychological areas and how this pandemic impact how we design spaces for now and the future.

Its a lot about humans, how humans interact, how they do not follow rules, about routines and how to guide them towards the preferable actions.

Its a lot about designing personal safety precautions, and of course about how, when and where to clean spaces. Its also about combining home with IT and work, and who is going to work and especially when they are going to work….for instance expanding the hours at work so people can work in shifts or waves, and spaces can be used.

Im looking at very different aspects of spaces….Spaceplanning, circulation, and how to separate groups…and of course interior and workspaces at home…its so much about materials, did you know that copper is the best material to use, because its self cleaning…and that there is a high demand after plexiglass…that its sold out many many places..

Im thinking about sneeze safe areas, looking at spaces as petri glass dish with virus, social distancing and service…but also about creating spaces for people who love to interact with each others and help them doing it in a safe way…

I love when I get the opportunity to work with complex projects, see the whole picture and find good solutions for my customer..

Influencing the energy in the room

My current workspaces and meetingrooms, my car and receptionarea at The Goverment of Greenland…

I’m having four very different designprojects for the moment, interiors, reports, counselling and I really enjoy their complexity, different natures…sizes.

Today I really felt design matters! Design is very strategic thinking together with intuitive work, its helping people practically in dailylife and is a solution based approach, but also giving the environment meaning and purpose at several levels, its a rich understanding of the users and giving them a good room experience…

Today at one of my meetings for a new project, I had some lovely feedback for an e-learning room I designed last year…they just loved it, and use it so much for all kinds of purposes, that they had to put up a booking system for the room…it was in use all the time…

My space-heart was so happy by the response…

OOOH Houses!

Photoparade with nice black houses…For many years have a specific black wood house kept showing up in my mind, I know I will find it one day and move in…I know how it looks in details, the surroundings and the energy about the place…its so familiar that I look for it, because it has been in my mind for so many years! Its none of these black houses, but I like them..

Another day with <3

All of it something I love….I work from home and have days where I only talk with my girls and spend the whole day alone, while they are at school…I never get tired of it…I love talking with other people, but I really love being with myself…the silence, some days the focus and concentration, perhaps a little talking with our cat….for years my youngest daughter have been asking for a dog, and for all those years have I been saying no, but now it has changed, the timing is really poor where we are in our life, but when you feel love then its hard to discuss…we met this dog yesterday, an older dog at the animalshelter( from where we also had our cats)…sweet, trusting, curious, he loves cats, he has energy but not as a puppy, he doenst bark, but get very excited if you want to walk him, what to do – what to do? Isnt he sweeeet? In my mind I thought in 6 months we could perhaps get a dog, smaller to mediumsize, shorthaired, and this sweet dog is totally opposite! Big dog, a lot of hair, need long walks and stimulation…life is always showing love in all kinds of disguises…he is called Bandit

Good colours

Free from chemicals…from danish paintcompany Linolie, which Im working together with in my present project…the nice thing about using natural paint is its so healthy. Average plasticpaint is poluting your home environment with small doses of chemicals over more than 10 years after you have been painting the rooms…you dont smell it, taste it or feel it, BUT the polution is there…so consider using more healthy types of paint….they last much longer as well…and the walls or surfaces can breathe which is the ooposite of chemical paint…the shot of all breathing because its a layer of plastic you put on your walls and ceiling…

Im waiting to recieve a whole new colourcollection from them, which they just created last week…perhaps I will need to try them in my own home 🙂 just to make sure how they react when my painter is going to work with them…and to experience the colours in changing light..

A healing place

…just being inspired, creating my new website where I connect and combine my design- and energyhealingwork, and the reason why I posted so little lately…but very soon I launch the new site….besides designing, have I been walking my own talk having some slow living, I’m not able to walk my path or hear my inner voice clearly if I’m too busy or tired…so the days have been used in silence, resting, working a little with a designconcept and my energywork…but only enough so I have been able to read bedtime stories for the girls, taking care of my cat and plants, cooking nice meals, sitting next to the ocean and talk with the water, knitting, laying down…trying to emit my own frequency rather absorbing the energies around me and creating a new direction and path thats better for me….

Gorgeous atmospheres of the World from my favourite magazine, World of Interiors

As a professional interior designer this magazine just speak to me in all directions, colourwise, history, styles, personality,  or as described by themselve “authoritative, relevant, lavish – and unpredictable, quality and attention to detail”…..

I love it, thats why I bring in a LOT of photos this time…
