A dip of magic

The heaven above me this writing moment is full of magic, spring is at the next corner, you can smell it, see the changing light through daytime….fast snow buntings everywhere, still snow, and a cat which stays out the whole night, children asking why they have to go to bed, because its not dark at that time although its late….all signs of prespring and the coming spring…..

Festoon

or cable with lights on….I just really liked the image….and started to collect a bunch of cozy photos….and remembered what have made my different homes very cozy, besides the furnitures, colours and plants….mostly it has something to do with the light or lamps. I was for 11 years renting a huge plus cheap apartment of 150m2 in the center of Copenhagen at the 5th floor….and the first year I had a lot of light chains in the whole apartment, until I had the money to buy lamps for all the rooms…..that was very very cosy…now I have a lot of lamps and no light chains….although I miss having some….instead I have white vintage christmas stars with light bulps in the staircase…thats very nice as well…

Time for dyed yarn

naturally dyed yarn….I used to do this as a kid when I was deep into weaving. Oooh I loved it both the dye process but also the weaving….look how beautiful they are. I ran out of dyed yarn months ago, and knit with different types more ordinary yarn for the moment….mostly knitting washcloths this period….but have a basket full of ongoing projects of different types. But always ready to knit with natural dyed yarn….there is something special about them, full of magic from the flowers and plants and every yarn ball having their own souls…

Its interesting how little I actually work with these processes in my daily life compared with how much time I have used on it earlier in my life….a note to myself…

What a story

Huge pieces of work, so many details, and smaller stories taking you from one place to another….inspiring one to imagine and create your own images….

Every piece made by dutch artist Tilleke Schwarz… I love her style, storytelling and craziness, its so cluttered in a good annoying way…I cant stop thinking about organizing the clutter in her embroideries in to spaces of serenity, so stupid, but still on my mind…I wonder how big they are…

Wallpaper, copper and brass

I went out some weeks ago and bought some copper pots and pans, I used to have some, and now I have again….and why is it that kitchen life is so much better with copper? As a child I remember I was the one to polish the brass and copper at home…and loved to see it shine….together with some beautiful wallpaper it is perfect as well.
