Christmas time has arrived. We went out yesterday to bring home a specific tree we had in mind. After four years without a tree, because we didnt liked it to travel all the way to Greenland.
This year we thought a little tree we could plant out in the garden was the thing…BUT we went out and saw several trees we could plant out and not, and suddenly there was this wonderful absolutely beautiful tree, which are cut, a lot bigger than we decided, it took us with storm! When we came home, a little bit in chock, we realized we didnt have any christmas tree holder(what ever its called :-)), so that was number one task today finding one which was big enough. We managed to find one, bring it home, put up the tree, decorate it this evening. We are thrilled with our first tree in years 🎄
A dot
Nuuk, Greenland last year 18.th of december 2019, A Facebook friend in Greenland put up this beautiful photo from one of his friends – Ádám Young, which flew over Nuuk and sent this beautiful picture he had taken this evening enroute to Denver, Colorado from Reykjavík, Iceland. Thank you so much Ádám! I really miss my tiny little Nuuk in Greenland when I see this photo…
Sunday walk
I love our forest Marselisborg forest’ and the ocean, my eldest daughter and I had a nice long walk. Enjoy the photos and the little video clip…
Windowshopping
I love looking at windows – the way things are displayed – I dont have a huge need of buying things after years of decluttering and being more and more minimalist. But I get inspired by all the rich imagination the decorator have put in to their work.
Today I passed a local beautiful furniture store – besides a lot of nice art deco things – they had a lovely circular french lamp. And at one of the departement stores they have made a mindblowing Lego landscape, or some Lego entusiast’ have made it…
Here and now
Today I went out some hours because were are soon partly shutting down because of the pandemic. So my youngest daughter will have her lessons over Zoom until start of 2021 – hopefully she will be able to go back to school in january.
So we will schedule daily routines at home, AND a daily walk in the woods will be part of it…
Thankfully the goverment havent shut down the youthschool of my eldest daughter Uhr so she will first join us in some weeks for the winter holiday…and will only be able to return at her school with a negative covid-19 test.
This new start in Denmark are definetely different from how I imagined/planned it, I have had days where I have felt lost, but most of the time I have thought there is a meaning behind all this, and I really appreciate my alone time at home, the silence, relaxed time for the first time in a very long period and the change and new environment…I still feel and think that the more relaxed I am, the better I am in my life, at home, with my family, my coming work and definitely better with myself!!
I hope you all out there in this beautiful world are keeping the spirit high and please send a greeting from where in the world you are, and let me know how you’re doing for the moment ❤️
So sweet with all the trees in front of Millas Steiner school The sweet christmas decorations at Millas school
A house in Aarhus I have fallen in love with It has a lot of beautiful art deco
Winter projects
Im knitting today or actually Im correcting mistakes. The nice half mittens/gloves in rosa and yellow a gift for my eldest daughter (as the purple and blue which already are done and gifts for my youngest daughter) I was so concentrated about the pattern that I missed making the knitpreparing for the thumb part…so right now Im knitting back wards 20 rows 🤣
The green project a v-neck slipover in lovely merino and mohair wool needs a circula knitting needle in a size I dont have – so although I was in the mood for finishing it today I have to wait until tomorrow.
And last project – a very ooold project, a beautiful merinowool blouse for myself – the needle broke – and then life came in between – so I think that february (after birthday month for the girls), I will finish this project – and wear it.
And then every december month I remember an old project (worked on it intensely for 6 months more than 20 years ago and then I was very busy with my final project at the Danish Design school, so this and other projects had to wait. I should finish the edge so we could use it, and then get inspired to finish it…lets see…meantime my eyesight have changed a lot 😂 so when Im going to finish the project I will need a huge magnifying glass lamp. I went for a 5 week embroidery vacation when the children were small at Skals craft school. That was such a nice gift for myself – embroidery and knitting for 5 weeks. Im going to pay the school another long term visit…because its so wonderful to work with your crafting projects 8-12 hours a day.
